waking up
waking up
in a hot bed
surrounded by hot air
the fan not doing any good
the neck of my shirt
damp with sweat
my face like greasy rock
my tongue a large fuzzy thing
my brain a lump of nothing.
waking up
in North Carolina
in August:
it's like
dying
in reverse.

I can really relate to this, waking up in the hot humidity. Sometimes, that's all a poem needs, just a connection with the reader. Very good and very commendable.
